According to an ABC News Poll: “Immigration remains a political challenge; reform efforts fell flat last spring and the public remains of two minds on enforcement. On one hand, just two in 10 say the government is doing enough to keep illegal immigrants out of the country; on the other, most, 58 percent, favor a path to citizenship for those here now — a program giving illegal immigrants the right to legal status if they pay a fine and meet other requirements.”

According to the Associated Press: “California has become the first state to prohibit landlords from asking tenants about their immigration status, drawing sighs of relief from property owners who were concerned they might have to be ‘de-facto immigration cops.’”

According to an article on CNN.com: “Former detainees of Immigration and Customs Enforcement accuse the agency in a lawsuit of forcibly injecting them with psychotropic drugs while trying to shuttle them out of the country during their deportation.”

The USCIS weekly Receipting Update for October 5, 2007 was released yesterday. A new one is theoretically due today…I wouldn’t hold my breath.
