According to an Associated Press article: “Thousands of children whose parents are arrested in immigration raids in the U.S. face mental health issues including post-traumatic stress disorder, separation anxiety and depression, according to a new study released Wednesday by the Urban Institute.”

According to an article on about.com: “Governors of 13 states have sent a joint letter to both the Senate and the House, imploring them to let Congress increase quotas on H-1B work visas and employment-based green cards. In the letter, they cite the worrisome U.S. “shortage of highly skilled professionals in math and science,” pointing out “that foreign talent has a role to play in our ability to keep companies located in our state and country.” The letter calls for swift legislation to address the visa shortages.”

According to TheHill.com: “A spokesman for Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) confirmed Monday that the congressman will not seek another term in Congress in 2008, regardless of his fate in the presidential race.”
This is good news for those who support Comprehensive Immigration Reform in 2009.
