According to an article in the International Herald Tribune: “A major union plans to file a class-action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Wednesday, seeking an injunction to stop federal officials from conducting what the union calls illegal workplace raids.”

The DOS released the October 2007 Visa Bulletin, and it’s not too bad. How they count boggles my mind. In any event, EB Second Preference is current except for Indian and Chinese Nationals whose Priority Dates must precede April 1, 2004 and January 1, 2006 respectively. EB Third Preference is available for those with Priority Dates prior to August 1, 2002 except for China, India and Mexico where the dates September 1, 2001 for China, and April 22, 2001 for India and Mexico.

Many checks were processed by our bank yesterday for EB Texas Service Center cases filed pursuant to the July Visa Bulletin mess. Some were filed as late as July 14, 2007. Expect to see a lot of progress in receipting from the Texas Service Center by the time the next update comes out (scheduled for Friday September 14, 2007, but often late). Other lawyers are reporting sporadic receipts. BTW, these cases were filed in Nebraska but transferred to Texas.
