I heard reports that some applicants were getting EADs before their fingerprints were taken, I wasn't sure if that was true or not. It would be nice if there was uniformity between the centers. Even for PERM cases, there is a huge difference in the speed that cases are processed between the two centers. If your I-765 was filed more than a couple of months ago, talk to your lawyer about making an Info Pass appointment at your USCIS District Office. You can also make this appointment yourself at www.uscis.gov.

Thanks Bradley.
Texas center has sent EAD cards to individuals who have not received their receipts or given their finger prints yet. My finger prints are done few weeks ago, USCIS web site shows its still pending.I feel it is very strange that there is no uniformity among the centers!!

For cases that were filed in Nebraska and are being adjudicated there, as of the last Update, the USCIS was receipting cases filed on 7/26/07. Texas was receipting I-765s received on 6/30/07. I believe some cases filed in Nebraska were transferred to Texas (if this was the new Direct Filing location). After fingerprints are taken, the EAD card should arrive in a matter of weeks. An EAD allows the holder to work in the US. You should contact your lawyer to discuss your particular situation relating to entering into private practice.

when do you think EAD for applicants who sent their forms to Nebresca? Texas has sent EAD's to July 2nd filers. How long do we wait for obtaining interim/temp EAD? Can people with EAD do private practice? Thanks
